Abby’s House is an organization that is changing lives right here in our region, and the team at Breakpoint Advisors has seen firsthand the importance of the work they do. That is why when Jennifer Spicer at Abby’s House called about sponsoring this year’s 5K, I didn’t need much time to think about it. Sponsoring this race is a natural extension of what we already believe about supporting organizations that make a real difference for individuals and families.
So this year, Breakpoint Advisors is proud to return as Presenting Sponsor of the 17th Annual Hybrid 5K, and I wanted to write a few words about why.
What We Do at Breakpoint
For those who do not know us, Breakpoint Advisors is a Boston-based commercial real estate valuation and consultancy firm. Since 2018, our team has provided valuations of commercial properties across the country, from office buildings and mixed-use developments to large, complex projects, to help investors, lenders, and property owners make confident decisions.
That work keeps us busy, but it does not define what we care about. From the beginning, it has been important for us to invest in the communities where our employees live and work.
Why This Cause, Specifically
Abby’s House provides safe shelter, affordable housing, and advocacy for women and children in our region, and has done so for 50 years without relying on government funding. That kind of staying power does not happen by accident. It’s because an organization keeps showing up for the people who need it most, year after year, decade after decade.
We wanted to show up for them the same way.
A Word to Other Worcester Business Owners
If you are a business owner in the area, I encourage you to get involved. Supporting local organizations like Abby’s House is an investment in the strength and well-being of our future. The 17th Annual Hybrid 5K runs virtually from October 10 through October 17, with race day at West Boylston Middle and High School on October 17. This year’s goal is $115,000 in fundraising, all to support the women and children of Abby’s House.
