Last year, a JTB Studios member mentioned the Abby’s House 5K to owner Jessica Bridge, almost in passing. That single comment turned into a full studio team on race day, and now, a year later, JTB is coming back with an even bigger crew.
“I just genuinely think it’s an incredible organization,” Jessica says. As a local, woman-owned business with a community made up largely of women, she felt like supporting an organization that provides housing, advocacy, and support for women in Worcester was less of a decision and more of a natural fit.
What keeps pulling her back isn’t really the race itself. It’s what the race represents. “We really do show up for one another and for the community around us,” she says. “That’s one of my favorite things about the studio. What we’ve built extends well beyond taking classes together.”
That’s the throughline running from a member’s passing comment to a growing team on the starting line: a studio that treats showing up for each other as the whole point, whether that’s on the mat or on the course.
