Abby’s House is nearly finished with a $16.2-million renovation of its High Street women’s homeless apartment complex in Worcester.

The project began in February 2018 and included adding two units and making the entire building handicapped accessible with a new elevator system. Three units are now ADA compliant.

The building’s electrical, plumbing, heating and windows have all been upgraded.

“As Worcester continues to grow, so does the need for safe and affordable housing,” said Stephanie Page, executive director of Abby’s House. “The women who live here would face homelessness without this opportunity. Many already have and now reside at Abby’s House and this renovation to our facilities makes it so many more will have the opportunity in the future.”
