With many businesses closed, thousands of people out of work and people practicing social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic, nonprofit organizations still must provide for the underprivileged and become more creative in seeking financial support.
They’re doing their best.
Abby’s House, which has provided shelter, housing and advocacy for 14,000 homeless, battered and low-income women and children since 1976, canceled its seventh Spring-Tacular food and beverage tasting event at Holy Cross on May 14 due to the pandemic. Instead, Abby’s House will attempt to reach its $50,000 fundraising goal via a virtual giving campaign and online auction that began last Thursday and will run through this Thursday.
