With Governor Maura T. Healey declaring a state of emergency due to the rapidly rising numbers of migrant families in need of shelter and services, Abby’s House is committed to providing shelter, housing, and advocacy to the women who are experiencing homelessness.
There are nearly 5,600 families, including very young children and pregnant women, who are currently living in emergency shelter.
Abby’s House continues to live the mission of providing shelter, affordable housing, as well as advocacy and support services to homeless, battered, and low-income women, with or without children.
The Women’s Service Team is growing and are working endlessly with women to empower them by identifying realistic goals and assisting her in identifying the tools and resources needed to achieve them.
Abby’s House will continue to work alongside others within the community to find and provide solutions during the shelter crisis.
