Hotel Grace has hit full capacity every night since the snowstorm last week, having to turn away many beyond its capacity of 50.
The shelter is an emergency center run by Net of Compassion and South Middlesex Opportunity Council out of St. John’s Church at 44 Temple St. The organization offers transportation to another SMOC shelter on Queen Street when it is full.
“Net of Compassion is a community-based approach,” Executive Director Richard Gonzalez said. “We build relationships.”
There are 1,593 people homeless people in Worcester County this year, according to the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance.
