14th Annual Abby’s House Hybrid 5K Run/Walk

October 14 @ 9:00 am

Join us for the 14th annual Abby’s House Hybrid 5k Run/Walk. All proceeds raised benefit the women and children of Abby’s House, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and affordable housing, as well as advocacy and support services, to homeless, battered, and low-income women, with or without children. Our goal this year is to raise $70,000!  The course has gentle rolling hills and scenic views around the Wachusett Reservoir. Strollers are allowed. NO PETS PLEASE.

Missed the deadline for registering online for the in-person race? You can sign-up for the Abby’s House 5K Run/Walk by visiting us at Abby’s House, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609, on Thursday, October 12th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. You can also register on the In-Person race day, Saturday, October 14th between 8 – 8:30 a.m. Unfortunately, we cannot accept new registrations past 8:30 a.m.
Registrations for virtual participants will continue until Saturday October 14th! Please note, participants who registered for the virtual race are unable to participate in the in-person race, and all virtual participant times must be submitted by 9 am on 10/14 to be considered for top finisher prizes.

Race registrants who raise $500 or more by October 1st will qualify to receive a special Abby’s House athletic t-shirt as a thank you gift after the race!

Abby’s House has received a matching gift challenge! 5K Founders, Sue Manero and Susan Lauring will match all gifts, dollar for dollar, up to $2,000 in donations in memory of dear friend and fellow 5K Founder, Peggy Dix.
Participants joining us for the In-Person Race on Saturday, 10/14 are encouraged to pick up numbers on Thursday, October 12th from 10:00 am-2:00 pm and 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at : Abby’s House, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609. Participants who are joining us virtually will receive an email with ways to log their times on 10/10. Virtual participants can register and submit times until Saturday 10/14 at 9am.

Online Auction
An online auction will be available from 10/7 at 9:00am to 10/14 at 8:00pm at www.32auctions.com/abbyshouse5k2023. Have fun bidding and thank you for your support!
A speaking program will take place at the In-person race on Saturday, 10/14.

Abby’s House fundraises throughout the year to support more than 500 women & children annually. Your gifts and your personal fundraisers ensure women can access shelter and supportive housing, and personalized case management services to help her move forward towards her goals. This October, Abby’s House will host its 14th Annual Hybrid Run/Walk & Online Auction. A major component of the event is the online auction. There are several ways you can help Abby’s House achieve its goal such as sponsorship and/or donation. Please consider helping women and children at Abby’s House by donating items and/or gift certificates to be included in the online auction. How can my business support the women and children of Abby’s House?

Abby’s House 5K offers a unique opportunity to grow your business with exposure through the event and face-to-face engagement with the community. Be associated with a popular event and making a positive difference in the lives of Women and Children in need by becoming a sponsor. In order to be eligible for all sponsor benefits, forms should be submitted prior to September 1, 2023. 

Create a fundraiser or raise as a team! Your fundraiser for the 5K will raise awareness of the programs at Abby’s House supporting women and children. Fundraise through Racewire. Email Michelle Duong, Communications & Development Manager, for any logos or materials you can share with customers and staff.

Volunteers are needed year-round to assist in the many programs that support women and children. Volunteer for the 5K! Contact Volunteer Coordinator Kathleen Suchenski, to coordinate volunteer opportunities for the in-person race.
