We hope you’ll join us for the 8th annual Spring-Tacular, lighting the way for safety, healing and new beginnings for 45 years, presented by the Counseling & Assessment Clinic of Worcester, LLC. This year’s event will be a 7-day celebration and online auction that will take place from Friday, May 7th and will conclude with a special presentation on Thursday, May 13th.
Over the last 45 years, Abby’s House has continued to be a “bright spot” in the City of Worcester for countless women and children facing homelessness. It has been a place where they can safely stay, where they can listen to each other’s experiences of abuse, neglect, and economic instability, begin healing, and make plans towards a brighter future. While the services provided have grown over the years to include 79 units of supportive housing, a food pantry, Women’s Center, and Thrift Shop, one thing has remained the same – that this community has been there every step of the way to light the way towards safety, healing, and new beginnings for homeless and low-income women and children at Abby’s House and beyond.
We’ve set a goal to raise $100,000 to support the growing need for the shelter, housing, and advocacy programs for women and children at Abby’s House. To help us reach this goal, an anonymous donor has proposed a giving challenge. From now through May 13th, all Spring-Tacular-designated donations will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000! PLUS the first 200 Spring-Tacular donors who make a gift of $100 or more by Thursday, May 6th will be eligible to receive a celebration treat box featuring local vendors to enjoy on the evening of May 13th (More details to come).
Here are some examples of how your gift can make an impact:
- $48 provides one night of safe shelter, 1:1 case management, and access our referral network of 123+ health and social service agencies to a woman or child.
- $100 to support increased demand for transportation so that women can get to medical appointments, work or job interviews, and the grocery store.
- $336 provides one week of safe shelter, 1:1 case management, and access our referral network of 123+ health and social service agencies to a woman or child.
- $500 to help cover rent or unexpected bills that our residents and guests may be having trouble paying due to the ongoing health crisis and the impact its had on their jobs. For example, many women work front-line jobs and have had a reduction in their hours.
- $1,440 provides one month of safe shelter, 1:1 case management, and access our referral network of 123+ health and social service agencies to a woman or child.
